About Confidentiality Institute

About the Institute

Confidentiality is Key to Safety

Survivors of domestic violence, dating violence, stalking and sexual assault come to victim services agencies every day seeking help, sanctuary, and support.  Those survivors have a critical need for privacy and confidentiality. The agencies that serve them have a fundamental obligation to protect survivor confidentiality and privacy. However, many programs do not have the information or tools that they need to properly carry out that obligation.  The Institute was founded to ensure that advocates and agencies that serve survivors all have access to easy-to-use, customized toolkits and training to meet the unique challenge of protecting survivors’ confidentiality and privacy.
